Duration: Three Months (Two Sessions per month)
One hour sessions
Date/ Time: TBD
Online Program: All sessions are held over Zoom.

Open Heart: Finding Authenticity in a Complex World is a three-month
one-on-one mentorship program that supports artists in developing a strong relationship with their studio practice and finding their authentic artistic voice.

Open Heart is built on the foundation of deep compassion towards the self and the world. Through the program, we will think about how to create a practice that stems from a place of vulnerability, and how to establish a connection with the world at large. We begin the program with an exploratory set of questions, designed to pave the way forward with confidence. Thereafter, we will use prompts and exercises to both excavate and build.
Deep work begets deep work is the philosophical approach we’ll adopt.

During our time together, I will work with you as your support system and help you with these areas of your artistic practice:

  • Your unique gifts as an individual and artist.

  • Your authentic voice as an artist.

  • Tools to overcome creative blocks.

  • Working through self-doubt and other fears in the studio.

  • Refining ideas in your work: conceptual framework, content, material, form, process.

  • A road map for a body of work.

  • Feedback on your work.

  • Be an accountability partner.

  • Tools and resources that support your practice.

We will meet for a Zoom call every two weeks over three months.

TESTIMONIALS
”…Priya has been on a journey of Riyaaz, the Urdu word for a sustained practice in the realm of the arts. Her Riyaaz is her journey.  It is the process that she trusts more than the results.  This was conveyed in different ways throughout the 4 month program. It helped me clarify and reaffirm my need for my art. Wading through the beautiful but tangled swampland of family, children, jobs and other commitments can be hard and discouraging for the artist's spirit.  Priya helped us chart that swampland with maps and landmarks and navigate the same spaces over and over again. She is organized, honest, kind and insightful. Her elegant, minimalist and yet rich presentations lifted a veil or two from parts of myself that I had gotten accustomed to ignoring. I felt refreshed and awake to my art and my muse. The fog over my swampland had lifted….”
